The instant messaging app WhatsApp (WhatsApp) rolled out the Face ID and Touch ID features for iOS about 11 months ago. Now the company has rolled out this update for Android users.
Let me tell you that this fingerprint lock is currently for the app and it does not secure individual chat. That is, you can lock or unlock WhatsApp application but not chat.
After the rollout of this feature, users can register their fingerprint on their Android smartphone and secure their app. Here we are telling you how you can fingerprint Protected WhatsApp in your phone.
- First open WhatsApp on your Android phon
- On the right side of the app, you will see three dots. Tap on them
- Tap Settings
- Click on Account
- Then tap on the privacy option
- Scroll down to ‘Fingerprint Lock’
- Turn on ‘Unlock with Fingerprint Sensor’
- Then tap on ‘confirm fingerprint’
After this, you will be given three options for timing of fingerprint lock in the app. In which you will be able to choose one of the options immediately, after 1 minute and after 30 minutes.
Apart from this, you will also get the ‘show content in notifications’ option, which will enable you to preview message notifications in messages. Let us tell you that the company started beta testing of this feature for Android users 2 months ago. Now this feature has been rolled out for all Android users.
